10 Best Main Roster Debuts By WWE NXT Stars

6. Finn Bálor

Long before the days of Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa, Finn Bálor laid the blueprints for a successful run in NXT. Arriving with much fanfare, winning the NXT Championship then losing it just in time to be called up to the main roster was the forumala used by so many in NXT, following the path of the former Prince Devitt.

When WWE announced the return of the brand split, and the ensuing draft, fans were left wondering who, if any stars from NXT would be brought to Monday and Friday nights. They did not have to wait long as Finn Bálor was the third pick by Raw, by far the highest pick of any of the NXT call ups. He would arrive the next week, immediately being thrown into a championship opportunity.

In his first match, the Irishman won a Fatal 4-Way defeating well established stars in Cesaro, Rusev and Kevin Owens. Winning this match would have been enough to cement his arrival on Monday Night Raw - but his night was not over yet.

In the main event he would pin Roman Reigns, a feat not seen often in WWE, and move on to SummerSlam to face Seth Rollins for the newly created Universal Championship. Not a bad first day at the office for the former NXT Champion.
