10 Best Matches In WWE NXT History
5. Tyler Bate Vs. Pete Dunne (TakeOver: Chicago) (2017)
According to some, the once-promising United Kingdom Championship division now looks to have run its course after being neglected for almost a full 12 months following the climax of last year's January tournament in Blackpool.
And while it might not have succeeded in becoming a long-term WWE fixture, it at least helped bring some exposure to break-out stars Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne, who together shared two of the best matches of 2017.
The second (and, for a lot of fans, the better) of them came at TakeOver: Chicago in May, the for-the-ages encounter in which Dunne finally got his hands on the UK Title belt after months of coming up second best.
This was a match that had basically everything you could hope for: a compelling battle between two equally matched stars (one good and one oh-so-bad), incredible selling, a flurry of near-falls and a surprisingly hot crowd that appreciated every second of what they were watching.
