10 Best MMA Fighters Of The 2010s

8. Ben Askren

Decade Record: 16-2-(1)

It didn't quite have the ending he would have liked, or likely deserved, but Ben Askren's MMA career was one of phenomenal wrestling dominance and championship glory at nearly every turn, highlighted by his incredible 15-fight undefeated streak that ran nine years through the three biggest promotions on the planet.

He won the Bellator Season 2 Welterweight Tournament, capturing the Welterweight Championship in his very next bout against Lyman Good. He defended the strap four times, still a record to this day, before vacating the belt to sign with One Championship.

The former NCAA champion wasted little time in his new home, capturing One's Welterweight Championship in his second fight in the promotion. Much like his Bellator reign, 'Funky' would also defend this belt in four title defences, again, still a record to this day.

He would vacate his championship yet again to sign with another promotion, this time the bright lights of the UFC.

His undefeated streak would last one more fight, a controversial stoppage win over Robbie Lawler, taking his overall career record to 19 wins and zero defeats.

His famous five-second loss to Jorge Masvidal brought his run to an end, and he was unfortunately unable to bounce back against submission master Demian Maia before announcing his retirement.
