10 Best MMA Fighters Of The 2010s

3. Demetrious Johnson

Decade Record: 22-3-1

Demetrious Johnson carried an entire division for six years.

After a couple of wins in World Extreme Cagefighting, Johnson was brought in when the promotion merged with the UFC, winning his first two fights before falling short against Dominick Cruz for the Bantamweight Championship.

He wouldn't be without gold for long though, winning a tournament to be crowned the first UFC Flyweight Champion, embarking on a ridiculous record-breaking run as the leader of the new division.

From his first successful defence against John Dodson in 2013, to his last against Ray Borg in 2017, Mighty Mouse racked up an astonishing 11 consecutive title defences, a record that still stands to this day for both a single reign, and most total title defences in a UFC career.

Even after being traded to One Championship following his defeat at the hands of Henry Cejudo, Johnson couldn't be slowed down, fighting three times in seven months to win the promotion's Flyweight Grand Prix.

His incredible talent, versatility and ability to adapt in the cage is highlighted by the fact he became just the second fighter in UFC history to win all four available fight awards across his career that consist of fight, knockout, performance and submission of the night.
