10 Best Non-Ladder Matches In WWE Money In The Bank History
7. Rey Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger - World Title (2010)
There were a couple of storylines that fueled this World Heavyweight Championship match at the first ever Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View. Rey Mysterio captured the title from Jack Swagger at the previous month's event, Fatal 4way, after replacing The Undertaker in the match.
Swagger was exercising his rematch clause but also had some family drama happening at the same time. Kane suspected that Jack had something to do with a previous attack on his brother that sidelined him. Even though it was denied, Kane went ahead and Tombstoned Jack's dad for the fun of it.
When the match finally came about it was actually a good wrestling effort by the two. It wasn't perfect and there was even a slight botch or two along the way but the story of Swagger targeting Mysterio's already injured leg just made sense.
When Swagger finally applied his soon to be named Patriot Lock near the end of the match, Mysterio slipped out of his boot in a nice tribute to Eddie Guerrero from WrestleMania XX. He then rolled up Swagger to successfully retain his title.
Post-match, Kane fought Swagger to the back only to return a few moments with MITB briefcase in hand. He cashed in the title shot he earned earlier in the night to crown himself the new World Heavyweight Champion.
