Drew Galloway has been on a crusade to save independent wrestling this year. While he may not be able to stop EVOLVE from working with WWE, the skill he's brought to the scene shows that his quest has not been in vain.

In January, Galloway and Johnny Gargano won a tournament to become the inaugural EVOLVE Tag Team Champions. The superteam of Galloway and Gargano wouldn't last long, though - after losing the belts to Catch Point in April, Galloway turned on his partner, citing a disgust with the way EVOLVE (and Gargano) "sucked up" to WWE while he tried to maintain the sanctity of indy wrestling.

That made him EVOLVE's most hated heel, and his recruitment of TNA's Ethan Carter III in his war made headlines in the wrestling world.

Speaking of TNA, Galloway's also been making a mark there. The talented star captured the group's World Heavyweight Title in March, defeating Matt Hardy. He would defend the belt against both Hardys, Tyrus, Eli Drake, and more before losing it to Lashley in June.
