4. “My Four Kids Are My Constituents”
One of the big stories on this week’s show was the latest
attempt by Heath Slater to secure himself a contract with the SmackDown brand.
All he had to do was defeat Rhyno, but before that would happen, Slater thought
he’d try to curry favour with his opponent and fill him in on his situation.
The One Man Band explained that he’s got a wife and two kids depending on him, as well as a swanky above ground pool that’s going to need to be paid for. But after Rhyno informed Slater that he can't go easy on him with constituents to represent, Slater’s offspring suddenly multiplied, as he announced that “my four kids are my constituents.”
It marked the start of a running joke that saw JBL take the children count up to 13 and later 18 by the time the evening was through.
Sure, this one doesn’t affect much in the grand scheme of things, but it was an amusing tidbit nonetheless and more good writing from the SmackDown team, not to mention some great execution from Slater and Rhyno, of course.
