But Slater, Rhyno, and the writing team weren’t the only
ones on form on SmackDown. We also saw a rare nugget from David Otunga, the
newest addition to the commentary team.
Taking a much-welcomed break from talking about his Major Keys, Otunga aimed a well-placed jab at Heath Slater’s intelligence. After initially sticking up for his former Nexus brethren, Otunga then turned the tables on Slater by claiming that despite being “one of the most talented guys on the roster,” his one problem is that “his IQ’s lower than his shoe size.”

In all seriousness though, this was a nice bit of entertaining input for the relative rookie, and fingers crossed a sign of more things to come. It was actually somewhat reminiscent of Jerry Lawler in his heyday, although I’m not sure if that means Otunga’s doing a good job or betraying his good-guy persona.
Either way, it was a whole lot better than that Major Key nonsense he’s pushing as of late.
