10 Best Wrestlers Over 45 Years Old In The World Today
4. Kurt Angle
There's not much that can be written about Kurt Angle that hasn't already been said hundreds of times. Suffice to say, even an Olympic gold medal is not a guarantor of success in the pro ring, but Angle's acuity in the squared circle turned out to be just as great. He won multiple World Championships and became a superstar in WWE before jumping to TNA in 2006. Even though he wasn't under as bright a spotlight, he continued to work just as hard and perform just as well on a nightly basis. The key to Angle's success is his willingness to put his body on the line. It is, of course, a double-edged sword - he has suffered severe neck problems and weakness in his arms over the years, amongst a host of other injuries. Nevertheless, he keeps pushing himself the same way he did in preparation for the 1996 Olympic Games, working a physically-taxing style filled with suplexes, slams, and the occasional moonsaul (sometimes from the top of a damn cage). The 47-year-old Angle recently left TNA after nearly a decade of service, but he's not done with wrestling. His next bout - against Rey Mysterio later this month - has already been announced. It ought to be a doozy.
