In 1997, there were few more interesting storylines than the one revolving around The Hart Foundation. At WrestleMania 13, Bret Hart had turned heel, later stating in promos that he had lost respect for North American fans. Meanwhile in Canada, Bret and his clan were still top babyface heroes. It was a truly interesting dynamic, one of the most original in company history. Come July's In Your House 16: Canadian Stampede, Bret teamed with Jim Neidhart, his brother Owen, The British Bulldog and Brian Pillman to face Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, Goldust and The Legion Of Doom. The main event was a heated affair, and it was unique to see fans booing Austin and his cohorts out of the building. At around 25 minutes in length, the 10-man tag bout felt more than a little epic. Perhaps it wouldn't have been as memorable without the Canadian setting, but it was still a well-worked match. Naturally, The Hart Foundation were handed the victory, celebrating as the show went off the air with friends and family.
