10 Best WWE Pay-Per-Views Of The Past Decade
2. Extreme Rules 2012
WrestleMania XXVIII was a great show - between the huge Cena-Rock main event, the "End of an Era" Hell in a Cell match between Triple H and The Undertaker, and an exciting WWE Title match pitting CM Punk against Chris Jericho, it was truly worthy of the name WrestleMania. Just one month later, though, the company put on a show that blew it out of the water.
The evening after WrestleMania, Brock Lesnar made a shocking return to WWE, attacking top dog John Cena. That became the main event of Extreme Rules, and while many fans were shocked WWE went with the money match so quickly, interest could not have been higher. The bout was an incredible brawl between a legitimate ass kicker and a dedicated company man willing to take a very real beating. Both men bled hardway, and though Cena picked up the victory (a highly-criticised decision), it was still a one-of-a-kind bout.
Chris Jericho and CM Punk clashed in a WrestleMania rematch, a Chicago Street Fight that was even better than their bout the month before. Finally, Sheamus and Daniel Bryan - who only got 18 seconds at WrestleMania - had a rematch of their own, a two-out-of-three falls bout that went almost 23 minutes.
Needless to say, they were able to show what they could do with some actual time.
