7. Breakdown: In Your House 1998 (Steve Austin vs. Undertaker vs. Kane)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvdxgyETGzM Also known as the €œMaster Plan€ video package, the triple threat match at Breakdown for the WWE Championship was Vince McMahon€™s way of screwing Steve Austin out of the title once and for all. Austin€™s title reign had gone on far longer than Vince had ever imagined, and he was desperate enough to create a scenario where even Austin couldn€™t make a comeback and win. The master plan involved having both Undertaker and Kane in the match, but Undertaker was not able to pin his brother and vice versa. Instead, one of them had to beat Austin. It was a glorified handicap match against the Brothers of Destruction, and though Austin fought valiantly, the master plan was a success. As for the video, there€™s some great black and white stock footage of war time situations along with images of many historically influential leaders who had their own €master plans.€ Even though Austin, Taker, and Kane were the competitors, Vince McMahon was the star of this video as his voice would get echoed and remixed. The symbolism of both Kane and Undertaker being the most destructive force in wrestling remains pertinent, Austin is still seen as a fighting champion, and Vince McMahon€™s ego is at an all time high. The video strengthened everyone who was a part of the match, including the authority figure waiting in the wings.
