8. WrestleMania IX

Vince McMahon was once better at all this than anybody else.

He was so good, that even when various metrics suggested he wasn't that good at it, he was able to take a car park and turn it into a dream factory. WrestleMania IX is derided for having a fairly cr*p card, dropping an absolutely clanger in the woeful booking of Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan and the WWE Championship and being a needless exercise of substance over style. It's guilty of all that too, but f*cking look at it, man.

"Las Vegas" had a certain charm and sheen to it, but the back of Caesar's Palace certainly didn't. The Roman Coliseum idea took the branding so literally that new announcer Jim Ross was required to sport a toga for his on-screen debut with all other on-screen figures getting in the spirit of things. McMahon jumped off a platform in 2020 to show Rob Gronkowski how to do it, but he obviously wasn't so fussed on sporting a bedsheet here.
