10 Best WWE Tag Teams To Never Win Championship Gold

9. The Beverly Brothers

The Beverly Brothers two-year run in the WWF didn't exactly amount to much. They were a definition second-tier tag team, defeating teams like The Bushwackers but coming up short against teams higher up in the food chain such as the Natural Disasters. They portrayed spoiled brats, they wore purple and that was about as memorable as it got.

The truth is that Beau and Blake Beverly (or Wayne Bloom and Mike Enos) came in to the WWF with one hell of a reputation behind them. In 1990 they won the PWI 'Rookie of the Year' award, still to this day the only tag team to do so. They came in with a whole lot of hype after opening eyes working in AWA as The Destruction Crew. Big things were expected, but big things didn't materialise.

The WWF tag team division at the time wasn't exactly stacked, either. Teams were breaking up (The Rockers, The Hart Foundation) and teams were being thrown together (Money Inc., Natural Disasters). There's no reason why the duo of Beau & Blake shouldn't have acted as the anchors of that tag division.

Maybe it had something to do with that whole 'almost killing a jobber' thing.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
