There is little chance that Bayley will feature this far down the list at the end of 2017. Bayley had a stellar 2016, but it was a year that was more about establishment and consolidation than outright dominance. Unlike many of her fellow NXT alumni, Bayley's ascension to the main roster was long overdue, and the underlying assumption of her eventual success means she has been somewhat overlooked for the time being.

That isn't to say the year hasn't been without success. Bayley has beaten Charlotte on three occasions already, and was also one of two survivors in the traditional Survivor Series match between the women of RAW and SmackDown Live. Those who feared that Bayley would be failed on the main roster have been proven wrong.

2017 is going to be the year of Bayley, make no mistake about it. Even so, 2016 has seen Bayley clearly single herself out as a special talent in the RAW women's division, a top tier performer who has been preoccupied with those beneath her before inevitably turning her sights on title gold.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
