10 Big Mistakes WWE Have Made With Bray Wyatt

8. Doing Nothing With Sister Abigail

Upon debuting, Bray Wyatt would continually refer to the mysterious “Sister Abigail”. He named his finishing move after her, and mentioned that she was the guiding light who gave him purpose in this world, and thus propelled his entire existence. Wyatt and his Family were in this because of her influence, and for her to hold such control over such a powerful man, she must have been a righteously powerful being herself.

It looked like Wyatt’s references to Sister Abigail were leading towards something, but no. It turns out that the whole thing was a ruse, and instead of cashing-in on the intrigue surrounding the idea, Sister Abigail never received any concrete exposition. That was that: the story was never built upon, and while Wyatt still makes the odd reference to her, there’s little chance of further progression.

In not exploring Sister Abigail further, WWE have left Wyatt looking not like a man possessed, but a babbling lunatic. Perhaps there’s a chance WWE will look to tell this story later down the line, but the odds aren’t particularly high. That’s modern day WWE for you: if you take something for a subtle story thread, you’re probably mistaken.
