10 Big Mistakes WWE Have Made With Bray Wyatt

7. Nonsensical Promos

Bray Wyatt’s ability on the microphone has always been his standout attribute. He’s good in the ring, yes, but his talking ability greatly outshines all other aspects of his performance, and those early promos were a huge part of his initial success. Whenever Wyatt address the crowd, fans knew they were dealing with a truly menacing force of nature, and his threats had you genuinely fearing for his targets’ well-being.

Wyatt started as a revelation on the microphone, but the writers got lazy, and Bray’s material became more and more repetitive. It started around the John Cena feud that kicked-off Wyatt’s downward spiral, and today, Wyatt’s words aren’t those of a focused, intelligent madman, but a daft old goofball who has spent far too long watching David Lynch films and drinking cheap cider in his family basement.

Frankly, Bray Wyatt doesn’t make any sense any more. His weekly promos revolve entirely around nonsensical, unfocused psychobabble with little relevance to whatever he’s supposed to be talking about. Buzzards, fireflies, Gods, fears, darkness… yadda, yadda, yadda. Wyatt’s sermons all follow the same basic structure, and they’ve all but neutered his threat level. This isn’t a man who knows what he’s doing any more, but a babbling, bearded fool.
