10 Big Questions About Jinder Mahal As WWE Champion

1. Will It Justify The Return Of The Punjabi Prison

Inarguably the most vital question (and a consistent consideration of every wrestling fan since Mahal first snared the title), is if WWE will revive one of their greatest ever stipulation matches now they again have a champion suited to the conflict.

For the uninitiated, the feared bamboo double cage match requires resilience, strength and bravery, with both men potentially trapped in the inner (spiked-top) structure wrapped around the ring after four escape hatches have been locked shut by stationed referees.

The devastating Punjabi Prison has been used only twice by the company, with The Great Khali and then-associate Daivari introducing it to fans for a match with The Undertaker that would never end up taking place.

Failing a wellness test shortly before the 2006 Great American Bash pay-per-view, Khali was replaced by last minute sub The Big Show for the brutal encounter with 'The Deadman'.

Khali would get his turn just over a year later, in a losing effort to World Champion Batista, who was forced to leap dramatically between the inner and outer structure in order to overtake the slow-moving challenger as he made his escape.

Alright, both were utterly preposterous. But WWE have already lazily fallen back on a 'Punjabi' celebration less than a week into Jinder's run. It's odds on they'll raid the warehouse for this monstrosity.
