10 Big TNA Signings That Were Completely Wasted

3. Booker T

It’s hard to think of a really good moment of Booker T in TNA, and that’s a shame. You have to put a big part of the blame on him, as he never looked that motivated during his time there, but management cetainly didn’t give him anything really exciting to do.

Booker’s first feud in the company was against Bobby Roode, which sounds nice, but Roode at this time wasn’t the guy we know today. He was a struggling mid-carder trying to find his identity. It was a nice idea for Booker to face off against younger talent, but they chose the wrong guy. Their feud dragged on for months and killed any momentum that Booker had. Maybe they were just two guys who didn’t work well together. It happens.

Booker later joined the Main Event Mafia, which was entertaining at points, but quickly became disjointed. By the end of his run in TNA, it seemed that Book only wanted to be there to goof around with Kevin Nash and earn a nice paycheck for it. It’s a shame, as he had the support of the fans coming in due to him being misused in WWE (a quick job to Hunter about the King moniker put a bad taste in his mouth) and was still in good in-ring shape.

Through it all, he didn’t even become a one time (one time?) TNA Heavyweight Champion, which is definitely for the best.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
