10 Biggest AEW Success Stories (So Far)
1. The Dark Order
Every single member of The Dark Order managed to get over.
Given how the group has been perceived over time (that 18 December beatdown of The Elite still lives rent-free in this writer's head) makes this one of AEW's greatest accomplishments to date.
Evil Uno and Stu Grayson, once huge names on the independent circuit in the likes of CHIKARA and PWG, burst back into fans' minds with their Double or Nothing 2019 debut, while Colt Cabana has managed to stay relevant in a time where there are numerous other younger stars also vying for that same position.
John Silver and Alex Reynolds, originally brought into AEW as enhancement talent, found themselves with a full-time gig upon joining The Dark Order, and have come on leaps and bounds - particularly in the case of Silver. As for Alan Angels, Preston Vance, and Anny Jay, all three were made stars upon being initiated into the group's ranks.
Mr. Brodie Lee, meanwhile, became a mammoth star once again once he made his (much-anticipated) AEW debut as 'The Exalted One'. An enjoyable run as the TNT Champion, complete with a squash match win over Cody Rhodes, was arguably one of the defining moments of Brodie's career.
The Dark Order has recovered from disastrous beginnings to become a roaring success. It seems further from it, given some of their downfalls in the past, but overall, they succeeded massively. Lee's desire to have these lesser-known stars (Cabana aside) thrive alongside a bonafide name like himself goes to show the generosity of the late Jon Huber.
Forever, The Dark Order will be one of AEW's greatest success stories.
