10 Biggest AEW Success Stories (So Far)
5. Eddie Kingston
If there's anyone on the AEW roster who deserves their high-ranking spot, it's Eddie Kingston.
This is a guy who had spent eighteen years plying his trade across the globe - Impact Wrestling, CHIKARA, EVOLVE, NWA, CZW, ROH, the list goes on. Simply put, 'The Mad King's' first opportunity in AEW couldn't have come at a better time for him, both personally and professionally. Having had to sell his wrestling boots to help pay for his mortgage, the call came from QT Marshall to offer him a once in a lifetime chance.
The rest, as they say, is history.
All Elite Wrestling have elevated Kingston to a platform that he should have been on years ago. Turning down interest from WWE in favour of signing a full-time deal with the Elite company, the inaugural CHIKARA Grand Champion has since gone on to form his own faction, have banging matches with Cody Rhodes and Jon Moxley (another waits against PAC on the second night of New Year's Smash), and he even main-evented a pay-per-view in a World Championship match.
For someone who has put so much into this business, it's only right that Eddie Kingston now sits in the position he's currently in. It simply doesn't matter what place he has on the card; chances are, he's going to elevate both himself, and everyone else around him, whether it's through his in-ring work, or his incredible promo skills. He's that damn good.
