10 Biggest Final WWE Royal Rumble Entrant Flops
2. Booker T (2002)
Time spent in match: 00:33
Eliminations: 1
Booker T was WCW’s stand-out star in the wake of the Invasion, not that there was much competition. He entered his first ever Royal Rumble surveying the carnage with a firm look of daze and confusion. Seeing Rob Van Dam, who’d been left prone on his front after a Pedigree, Booker picked up an early elimination, throwing the unconscious Van Dam over the top rope.
With his opponents otherwise distracted, Booker’s hand shook, his knee hit the mat, and the crowd popped as he hit a Spinaroonie. While the future-King bringing his adolescent breakdancing experience to the ring roused the fans, it was detrimental to his chance of main eventing WrestleMania. His flailing legs caught the eye of Stone Cold Steve Austin who rocked a distracted Booker with a stunner, which he sold by diving over the top rope.
Booker T’s first Royal Rumble experience turned out to be more of a brief dance break followed by another moment of humiliation in his comedic rivalry with Austin. The following year he fared a little better, lasting for 06:20 and eliminating Eddie Guerrero.
