10 Biggest Megalomaniacs In WWE History
4. Triple H
From his humble beginnings of playing a cartoonish aristocrat, to becoming the top star in WWE, Triple H has had one hell of a ride in wrestling. While his inherent talent surely helped him achieve great levels of success, he’s also been known to mainly look out for himself, and has always made sure that he’s positioned as a legend in the making.
However, he’s proven to be a megalomaniac of the first order, as he’s carved a path of destruction along the way. His victims have been many. His promos have been lengthy. His screen time has been overbearing. He somehow convinced himself and his father in-law that he is truly one of the best the business has ever seen, despite never being at the level of his contemporaries in The Rock and Steve Austin.
Hunter wields incredible power backstage, and has used it again and again to push for himself, while downgrading the abilities of others. In just one example, when Rob Van Dam was set to be the first champion on Raw after the initial brand split, Hunter successfully lobbied to be handed the belt in the idea that he would later drop the title to Van Dam. Incredibly for Hunter, it never happened
Just watch him in NXT these days, and see how he can’t help but stay in the spotlight, by positioning himself as the man who gifts us with our good wrestling show. Despite being a heel on Raw, he betrays his own character repeatedly only so he can soak up the spotlight and receive the ovation from the live crowds. It’s not enough for us to know that Hunter is in charge, we have to see it with our own eyes.
For anyone who thinks his megalomania will be cooled down when he takes over the company, they haven't been paying attention. It’s only going to get worse, so learn to love him loving himself!
