10 Biggest Missed Opportunities In The Rock's WWE Career

1. Never Faced Shawn Michaels In Marquee Match

When wrestling fans talk about matches that eluded their eyes, one arguably stands out above all the rest. The fact that the WWF/WWE have never presented The Rock vs. Shawn Michaels one-on-one is an absolute travesty, because it would have been quite the spectacle.

There's no real excuse for not booking such a bout, but apparently The Rock has never particularly been fond of working a program opposite HBK. Rumours abound that this stems from the way Michaels treated his grand mother during a charity show, whilst others such as Bret Hart have fanned the flamed, claiming that Michaels and Triple H did everything they could to keep Rocky from reaching the top of the card during the late-90's.

Whatever the case, it's the fans who have lost out mightily here. Even upon his return to the ring in 2002, Shawn Michaels was a superlative in-ring performer, and The Rock was still kicking around. By the time The Rock decided to come back to WWE for some matches in 2011, it was too late, Michaels had retired, and fans will never see a match between the pair.
