10 Biggest Missed Opportunities In The Rock's WWE Career

2. Should Have Won The WWF Title At 'Mania 2000

Looking back, it really seems like the main event of WrestleMania 2000 should have been somewhat different to what it ended up being. Yes, there were big names aplenty shoe-horned into the feature attraction, but there would also have been a lot of excitement over a simple Triple H vs. The Rock main event.

This stands out as something of a missed opportunity in the career of The Rock, because he would defeat Triple H for the WWF Heavyweight Title one-on-one at the following Pay-Per-View, Backlash. Why didn't this happen at 'Mania? The Big Show and Mick Foley didn't really add much to the match itself, and both Rocky and Hunter were on fire at this point in their respective careers.

It would have made for a stunning WrestleMania moment had The Rock managed to fight off the McMahon-Helmsley Regime, win the WWF Title and stand proud on the biggest event in all of pro wrestling. Instead, Triple H retained and the crowd fell somewhat flat, when they should have been allowed that big heroic win.
