Lex Luger seemed to have all the tools to make it to the very top of the WWE. Dubbed 'The Total Package', Luger had the look and could work a great match with the right opponent, as evidenced by the blinders he had with Ricky Steamboat, Ric Flair and Brian Pillman in WCW. Vince wanted to make Luger the next Hulk Hogan in 1993, since Hogan was on his way out of the company. After a brief run as heel 'The Narcissist', Luger was given a massive push as an all-American babyface. He toured America in the Lex Express bus, shaking hands with fans and bodyslamming foreign menace Yokozuna. When it came time to beating Yoko for the WWF Championship, however, Luger failed. He didn't strike a chord with the masses like the company had hoped for. Luger began feuding with midcarders like Tatanka and Mr. Perfect after WrestleMania X. Given his look, previous success and marketability, Luger should have been way bigger in the WWF. The truth is, Luger didn't really care about wrestling. He was originally brought in for the World Bodybuilding Federation. He cared more about bodybuilding and football than he did wrestling and it showed.
