10 Biggest Wrestling Promo Botches

6. The Power Pro Wrestling Shoot

This one's less of a botch, but it's definitely catastrophic and offensive. The mistake was in not pulling the plug on the interview earlier, when it occurred on a live television of Power Pro Wrestling in October 1999.

Wrestler Doug Gilbert was interviewed backstage, an event that coincided with his going completely insane. He started gently, claiming the promotion's champion, Brian Christopher, had 'never got over', a piece of tedious wrestling in-speak but nothing too heinous.

Gilbert then accused Christopher of owing his championship to his father, the promotion's owner Jerry Lawler, a reference to a relationship which was not to be mentioned on-screen.

He said booker Randy Hales smoked crack in the promotion's back office, at which point the shellshocked interviewer tried and failed to reel in a crazed Gilbert. But it didn't work.

Gilbert's last salvo was to accuse Lawler of a sex crime, which finally killed the interview.

Gilbert was fired on the spot and Power Pro itself didn't last much longer, leaving only a faint stench of madness and hatred in its place.
