10 Biggest WWE Creative Mistakes Of 2020
3. Booking Ricochet Like An Absolute Geek
Ricochet was never going to make it in the WWE system because he can't really talk and WWE turns good talkers into competent ones, anyway.
The mandated (and failed) TV format does not function to get a man of his incredible and specific talents over. It's so heavy on (sh*t) verbiage, and since that verbiage pieces the matches together on the night, he has to talk. The framework insists that Ricochet interrupt a heel and say something unfunny.
So Ricochet is instead the Real-Life Superhero!
He can pull off mind-blowing feats of agility and athleticism. He gets over everywhere because he can invoke a feeling few others can: Ricochet gives you the dopamine shrieks.
Except in WWE.
He couldn't have looked more like a dork in the build to his annihilation at the hands of Brock Lesnar, and subsequently ate defeats to Riddick Moss, Brendan Vink and SLAPJACK.
Ricochet in every other promotion got over and got over big.
In WWE, he makes you cringe harder than recollecting every last one of your MSN Messenger chat logs.
