10 Biggest WWE News Items Of 2014

2. Undertaker's WrestleMania Streak Ending To Brock Lesnar

The most shocking booking decision of the year took place at WrestleMania 30 when Brock Lesnar pinned The Undertaker. That loss meant that The Undertaker was 21-1 at WrestleMania while Lesnar became "the one in 21 and 1" as Lesnar's advocate Paul Heyman has reminded us so many times this year. Lesnar hit Undertaker with that third F5 and we all just assumed Undertaker would kick out because he usually kicked out, especially at WrestleMania. Then he didn't. The ref's hand hit the mat three times. Heyman was shocked. Lesnar smiled. It was the end of something special. There were crowd reactions to the finish that were all-time classic stuff. People could not believe it. I was there and I can still remember how quiet it was because it was one of the most shocking things we had ever seen. The Streak was this special thing for so long and it meant so much to a lot of fans, but all good things must come to an end.
After the match, it was revealed that Undertaker suffered a concussion and it must have been really bad because WWE Chairman left WrestleMania to go to the hospital with him. Apparently Undertaker's doing fine now although we haven't seen him on WWE TV since WM30. The Undertaker may never wrestle again. He's going to turn 50 years old in 2015 and he's clearly at a point in his career where there's no reason to wrestle again. However, if he wants to go out with a win then it might happen next year or maybe the year after that. If this was any other year, The Undertaker losing at WrestleMania would probably be the biggest news story. However, there was something else that trumped it.
