In 2015, John Bradshaw Layfield became the Piers Morgan of WWE, if he wasn’t already, when he began hosting his ‘Legends With JBL’ show on the WWE Network.

The former WWE Champion sat down with an eclectic mix of some of wrestling’s biggest names in a series of interviews. Not only did the show go in-depth on the guests’ legendary careers, but they would also often go into their background with tales of their childhood.

The life story of Bruno Sammartino is particularly remarkable, as well as the childhood tales of both Booker T and Ron Simmons. Hearing about the struggles that these men went through before finding success in the wrestling business is awe-inspiring.

A two-part episode on The Undertaker’s greatest rivals is also an enlightening watch. JBL sits down with a star-studded panel consisting of Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Steve Austin to discuss what it was like to step into the ring with ‘The Deadman’

This episode gave fans an insight into the man behind the myth as told by his peers. This was a rare occurrence at the time, before Mark Calaway took to Twitter to help fight his wife’s battles.

Don’t tell Michelle I said that.
