Underscoring a troubled 1998 for Don ‘The Jackyl’ Callis in WWE, the future Impact Wrestling gaffer found himself desperately trying to remain over amidst a run of halted pushes and political speed bumps when he gave his penultimate WWE project his very best shot as he unveiled ‘The Parade of Human Oddities’.

The Jackyl's cult leader persona was a perfect fit for this menagerie of brainwashed malcontents working completely under his tacitly cruel power. It just didn't stand a chance of ever getting past week one. Unleashing them on the May 25th 1998 Raw audience, he strolled out with Howard Stern Show regulars ‘Hank The Angry Drunken Dwarf’ and ‘Crackhead Bob as well as actual wrestlers Giant Silva, Luna and Golga, chastising the crowd for their alleged condemnation of these abused few.

Hank’s speech immediately strayed into the internal darkness that undercut the entire ugly scene. Expressing anguish at his mocked fame, he said, ’People are using my name on the online (sic) now, and it screwed two of my best friends’ f**king lives’. Callis stole back the microphone ahead of any more F-bombs, but only passed it over Bob, who doubled down on the misery.

Golga defeated Headbanger Thrasher in the match that followed, whilst Jim Ross, Michael Cole and The Jackyl himself failed to reconcile the entire mess. The group were repackaged as babyfaces alongside Sable just weeks later.
