9. Will We Dwell On The Announcers?
Last week, Brock Lesnar decimated the announce team in one fell swoop, flipping the table onto JBL and Booker T, then catching a scurrying Michael Cole and hitting an F-5 on him. That assault landed Lesnar on the indefinite suspension list, and it sent an unprepared Byron Saxton out to fly solo for several matches (until Jerry Lawler bailed him out). During the week, WWE published an article about the (kayfabe) injuries sustained by the three announcers, including a bulging disc (Cole), and abdominal wall tear (JBL) and contusions (Booker). All three are expected back Monday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fOJGZ-NVXE The announcers are an integral part of WWE Raw (as last weeks show demonstrated by sticking an unready play-by-play guy out there), but at no point should they be the show. WWE made this mistake in 2011 with Michael Coles heel turn. Hopefully WWE wont make the same mistake and start focusing on the announcers wellbeing. Are we going to get interviews with them? Will they spend multiple segments talking about how they were assaulted by Lesnar? Lets hope the answer to this one is a resounding no.
