WWE.com broke the news of AJ Lee retiring from in-ring competition Friday, sending Twitter and wrestling sites into fits. Without a doubt, AJ is (was) the most popular Diva on the roster. As much as WWE would like you to believe its all about the Bella Twins or the cast of Total Divas, AJ easily was the woman getting the biggest reactions. She also was the best on the mic and one of the best in the ring. Her departure is a huge blow to the Divas division. So how will WWE mark AJs retirement? Or will the company note it at all? One has to think that at least a mention from the announcers would be appropriate, given her popularity and the fact that she had just won at WrestleMania a week earlier. WWE has ignored superstars when theyve left, but this one would just seem bad if they didnt follow their own websites lead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoYYRRGND6Q Another question that goes with this one is whether the crowd will acknowledge AJs departure if WWE doesnt or does an inadequate job? The fans, many of whom chanted CM Punk at her for the past year, could do the decent thing and help send her off in a nice way.
