If you caught Smackdown Thursday night, you would have the Primetime Players launch a stinging, humorous barb at New Day, taking down Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. It was interesting in that both teams are considered faces, yet Titus ONeil and Darren Young pointed out that New Day gets no reaction from the crowd and are pretty much the lamest team in WWE today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN0kfxDZqik Where this gets event more interesting is that the New Day members have been particularly harsh on Twitter during the past week. Kofi tweeted #ClapOrSnap before calling Titus a stupid b*stard. He also posted a picture from when the trio first hinted at forming last summer, which it turned out was after a match involving Titus. Xavier Woods mocked Titus education, fraternity membership and failed NFL career. Big E fired off a series of tweets saying that I choose to clap to forget the fans who do various things like track wrestlers down at airports and restaurants. Sure, social media is not the be-all, end-all for character development, but the tweets certainly seemed in character and shows signs of the trio getting tired of exuding positivity and getting crapped on by fans and other wrestlers. Perhaps New Day is going to finally turn away from the smiling babyface route to what was originally expected: A group that wasnt going to take lying down any more and take what they wanted. Anything would be better than what weve gotten from this trio to date.
