10 Christmas Gifts Every WWE Fan Wants

3. More Legends Behind The Scenes

One major complaint consistently thrown at WWE is that there aren't enough 'wrestling' people behind the curtain. The juggernaut promotion has long had a fascination with distancing itself from what McMahon sarcastically dubs the wrasslin' business, but even with such nuances of WWE programming, it still submits to the paradigms of a pro wrestling show, and fans expect certain parameters to be met. Many of the men and women tasked with writing storylines, creating characters and penning major rivalries come from television backgrounds, which obviously has advantages, but there's a distinct feeling that WWE could improve communication with talent by hiring in people the roster themselves respect. Former WWE Champion, and iconic figure, Bret 'Hitman' Hart has remarked during interviews that he'd enjoy helping talent come up with creative finishes for their matches, citing the influence of Pat Patterson as invaluable during his lengthy career. Similarly, what can some Hollywood writer tell the WWE Superstars about in-ring presence that somebody like Shawn Michaels couldn't? These men wouldn't necessarily want to work day-to-day in the WWE environment again, but it's fairly accurate to assume they'd enjoy looking out for younger talent, living vicariously through their dreams and watching them grow.
