5. John Cena Becoming WWE World Heavyweight Champion
WWE.comDaniel Bryan's injury may have been a factor in this, but WWE Network's current failure also helped make John Cena a 15-time World Champion too. John Cena has been the face of the WWE for nine years now, and is still their choice for the number one babyface spot. With SummerSlam around the corner, John Cena will be plugging the WWE Network hard as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Unlike with Daniel Bryan, John Cena would be able to get booked on more talk shows because he's more recognisable to casual audiences than Daniel Bryan. WWE also has a weird notion that people think matches are more important with the WWE World Heavyweight Title on the line. With John Cena expected to face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, WWE is probably predicting more WWE Network subscriptions will follow. Making John Cena WWE World Heavyweight Champion again is a double edged sword. After his Money in the Bank victory, many people threatened to cancel their WWE Network subscriptions. It will be interesting to see how many people renew their subscriptions.
