For an organisation with 'World' in its own brand name, WWE never really strays too far from its roots as an all-American family business owned and operated in perpetuity by the broadly conservative and fiercely patriotic McMahon clan.

For reasons of financial gain and mass market penetration, the company routinely runs shows internationally, often to audiences salivating for an in-person glimpse at television talents, but as a recent flag match between John Cena and Rusev proved, the company is unafraid to remind its global audience exactly which country is the greatest of them all.

'The Bulgarian Brute' was of course defeated. Cena was fighting for 'Murica g*ddamn it, and as per a never changing decades-old script, no one man can overcome a US wrestler's will to win or a country's incredible fighting spirit.

Yet, for some bizarre reason, foreigners and/or foreign sympathisers continue to try!

Insurgents from Finland, Ukraine, Iran, Iraq, Uganda, Russia, India, Canada, Scotland, England, Japan, Bulgaria and Mexico have all tried and failed to take America to task in the form of assaulting a nationalistic babyface hero, without ever learning lessons from flawed attempts past.

Even in his position as WWE Champion and all-round anti-American rabble rouser, Jinder Mahal's days are numbered. He'll eventually push his rhetoric far too far, robbing him of all the status he's miraculously achieved.
