10 Contenders For The First AEW Midcard Championship
5. Jake Hager
Jake Hager made his shock AEW debut when he joined forces with Chris Jericho on the first episode of Dynamite.
This mountain of a man is better known to wrestling fans as WWE's Jack Swagger, a former World Champion who left the promotion in 2017.
Since then, Hager has performed for Lucha Underground, Major League Wrestling, and the NWA. He is also a member of MMA promotion Bellator, where he is undefeated at time of writing.
Hager is being positioned as a total monster in AEW, assisted by his real life unbeaten Bellator record. If they want to make him an even bigger deal, then a dominant run as the first ever midcard champion is the way to go.
This would give Hager time to readjust to a wrestling ring in less prominent matches and would also make The Inner Circle seem like an even more powerful force than they already are.
Two champions in one faction?
This calls for a little bit of the bubbly...
