10 Controversial Moments In Hulk Hogan's WWE Career

9. Steroid Scandal

The first major controversy of Hogan's career was the WWF steroid scandal in the early 90's. In 1992, Hogan himself was accused of buying steroids from the WWF Doctor. He denied these allegations, but took a leave of absence from the company to let the controversy blow over. He returned in 1993, but left a short while later. What had been clear in Hogan's late eighties success was how muscular he was. That's what got him over, he was larger than life. Did he use steroids to attain those muscles, or was he just a legitimate freak of nature that killed it in the gym and ate all the right things? The truth was that he was indeed a steroid user. In the 1994 US government trial of Vince McMahon, Hulk finally admitted that he had taken steroids in his career. That shattered his image and effectively ended his run as the superman role model of little children.
