10 Criminally Underrated Wrestler/Manager Combos

8. Goldust/Luna Vachon

Originally, Luna Vachon's role as Bam Bam Bigelow's 'main squeeze' was in this slot, but the more thought one puts into things makes it clear Goldust belongs here. He was a bit of a directionless hack by late-1997, and he needed something fresh to distance himself from the successful Marlena pairing of before.

So, Goldie upped the controversy, started reading children's poetry, mixed up his colour palette and wore smaller thongs than his wife Terri did in matches against The Kat from 2000. He also added Luna as his new freak, and it worked better than revisionist history would lead Attitude era critics to believe.

What better female valet for Goldust than the bizarre, scary Vachon?

Together, they managed to be entertaining despite Goldust's weight gain, emerging personal problems and topsy-turvy booking. It can't be ignored how pivotal a part Luna played in Goldust's feuds against Vader (that Royal Rumble '98 Vader Bomb was something else) or the in-ring progress of Sable.
