9. Roman Reigns Channels The Spirit Of Sylvester The Cat
The process required to find that perfect character can be quite the journey for different wrestlers. In the case of Roman Reigns, the way WWE have booked him has been at odds with what many fans want. It's no accident that Reigns is booed heavily these days as WWE's handling of him over the past year has often been shocking.
Never was this more evident than on the January 9, 2015 episode of SmackDown. Confronting Seth Rollins in the middle of the ring, Roman proceeded to deliver some of the most downright corny dialogue this side of John Cena. The problem is, Cena is regularly put across like a childish character, Reigns hasn't always had that aesthetic.
Once a menacing threat in the midst of The Shield, WWE had turned Roman Reigns into a cheesy persona that just wasn't cutting it. By the time he uttered (Loony Tunes' own) Sylvester The Cat's infamous 'Suffering Succotash!' line, the cringing from the audience was almost audible.
Turning to the hard cameras, Reigns then offered up a wink. It was a terrible line, so unconvincing and flat in delivery.
