10 Current Superstars WWE Has No Idea What To Do With

9. TJ Perkins

The Cruiserweight Classic was one of WWE’s biggest highlights last year, and TJ Perkins looked like a readymade superstar. In defeating the likes of Kota Ibushi and Gran Metalik, Perkins was perfectly positioned to anchor the revived Cruiserweight division as its champion, and establish himself as an exciting, flashy babyface on Monday Night Raw and beyond.

Sadly, WWE have done everything in their power to run him into the ground since then. Perkins was completely absent from the division’s Raw debut, and his feud with Brian Kendrick only made him look like a loser. He has since adopted a corny gamer gimmick and seemingly lost all credibility between the ropes. Rich Swann and Jack Gallagher have supplanted him as 205 Live’s top babyfaces, and Perkins’ has become just another face in the crowd.

TJP remains active in and around the Cruiserweight Title scene, but he’s no longer the focal point of the division. WWE have failed to build on the CWC’s momentum, and they clearly have no idea what to do with Perkins on the main roster. He’s one of the most technically adept wrestlers in the division, but his WWE run has done nothing to build investment with the fans, and a big heel turn might be the only solution at this point.
