10 Deadly Spots That SHOULD Have Destroyed Wrestlers (...But Didn't)
9. John Cena Was Luckily Fine After Being Dropped On His Head By Nak (WWE SmackDown 2017)
There was a minute there when Shinsuke Nakamura's career on WWE's main roster looked to be over before it had even really got started.
The 'King of Strong Style' clashed with none other than John Cena on the August, 2, 2017 edition of SmackDown, with the winner going on to challenge for the WWE title at that year's SummerSlam.
And things were all going pretty well, right up until the point Nakamura attempted to nail the 'Face that Runs the Place' with an backdrop suplex during the dream match. Rather than taking the force of the move on his back or his chest, Cena ended up landing somewhere in the middle: right on top of his head.
Nak was visibly concerned about dropping Vinnie Mac's golden boy on his noggin in the aftermath. And the star would later go on to note how folks backstage were expectedly p*ssed about the unfortunate botch.
Cena took full responsibility for the mishap, however, even if Nak was sure his time as a WWE Superstar was up there and then.
Most importantly, the 'Leader of the Cenation' was said to be fine after such a close call and was locking up with the WWE Champion Jinder Mahal just a few weeks later.
