10 Deadly Spots That SHOULD Have Destroyed Wrestlers (...But Didn't)
3. Kenny Omega Somehow Survives Two Nasty Spots In A Matter Of Months (AEW Dynamite 2023)
On the back of spending ten months on the sidelines repairing a number of nagging injuries, it would've been understandable if Kenny Omega opted to take it somewhat easy as he slowly got his body back into a position where it can endure some of the most gruesome bumps imaginable.
But in the time since making that sensational AEW return back in August 2022, the 'Cleaner' has already repeatedly shown a willingness to once again risk it all in the pursuit of in-ring magic.
After managing to survive a gruelling best of seven series with Death Triangle and an epic with Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom 17, Omega locked horns with long-time rival Jon Moxley inside of a steel cage on the May 10 edition of Dynamite.
Omega typically refused to play it safe within the structure, V-Triggering his nemesis through the cage wall before getting his groin hung up on the fence.
Then, after ridiculously managing to get through that incident without any major injury, Omega fought through both an Anarchy in the Arena brawl and an even more intense rematch with the 'Aerial Assassin' at Forbiddon Door.
That latter chunk of violence obviously saw the world-class former AEW World Champion getting dumped on his head via Tiger Driver '91.
And in response to those who claimed the vicious move was too dangerous, an Omega who was back battering Wheeler Yuta a few weeks later defiantly told Sports Illustrated, "...don’t tell Mike Tyson how to box, and don’t tell Tyson Smith how to wrestle. You aren’t even close to being qualified. Just shut the f--- up."
You heard the man.
