4. Rich Swann Questions The Booking

A rather unsavoury public spat with his wife (and fellow wrestler) Su "Vannarah Riggs" Yung may have resulted in charges that were dismissed due to insufficient evidence, but the December 2017 incident was enough at the time to convince WWE to part ways with Swann by 'mutual consent' in February 2018.

Swann rapidly seemed to dispel the two-way agreement WWE had publicly posited with an early March tweet that took a stab at former Combat Zone Wrestling star and independent circuit favourite Nick Gage.

If the "lol" wasn't childish enough, the remainder of the tweet certainly was. It did Swann no favours to so openly bemoan his plight, not least at the expense of a fellow performer attempting to continue a career despite earlier police problems - a task he may have had to encounter had original charges stood up.

After Swann awkwardly backed down from Gage's passive aggressive challenge, he then teased retirement altogether before turning back up in Gage's old CZW stomping ground and eventually being announced as a new member of the Impact Wrestling roster in May 2018.
