10 Most Devastating WWE Neck Injuries

1. Droz

But undeniably the worst neck injury in WWE history was the one suffered by Droz at a SmackDown taping in 1999. Droz claims that due to the loose-fitting shirt he was wearing, D€™Lo Brown€”his opponent that night€”was unable to get a decent grip on him when executing a running powerbomb. This led to Droz landing on his head and fracturing two disks in his neck. But that wasn€™t the worst of it. Even after hours of surgery, the injury was so severe that it left Droz with virtually no movement from the neck down, rendering him a quadriplegic. Of course, Droz holds no hard feelings€”whilst on the stretcher he is said to have to Brown not to blame himself for the incident. And although that was the end of his in-ring career, Droz remained with the company in another capacity, writing articles for WWE.com and featuring as a recurring guest on Byte This! More recently still, Droz has actually regained movement in much of his upper body and arms. However, all of this doesn€™t take anything away from the fact that this was a truly horrific injury and a very real reminder of the dangers of pro wrestling. But hey, it€™s all fake really, isn€™t it?
