10 Directions NXT Should Look At For 2017
2. Diversify The Tag Team Division
2016 has been a defining year for NXT's tag team division. However, since losing American Alpha to SmackDown Live, there are effectively only four real teams left in the division. #DIY, The Authors of Pain, TM61, and The Revival, who are not far off moving up themselves.
Now, NXT has done a fantastic job of pushing Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, the current NXT Tag Team Champions, and in the future there is a clear path towards the two men having a feud of their own. Having said that, once the Authors of Pain, led by Paul Ellering, inevitably win the titles, NXT will likely be stuck in the same position with the tag team division as the women's division currently is with Asuka: who will be believably tough opponents?
NXT definitely needs to sign more teams or form some more in 2017 for the division to be viable long-term.
