10 Disturbing Wrestling Bumps That Nearly Went Badly Wrong

8. Everybody Who Took The Shaker Heights Spike

Watching Beau Beverly smirk at total spinal compression is almost enough to excuse Vince McMahon's sense of humour.

So he finds dog sh*t funny. Big deal. He probably is a sociopath, but his reaction to an infamous strain of an infamous finish proved there is a heart underneath the shell, or at least a panic alarm for an imminent lawsuit.

As Beau spiked some poor bastard into the canvas head-first to the mat, from a great height with all the protection of a debuting Paul Heyman 2019 project, McMahon let out an appalled "Oh no...no." Beau meanwhile corpsed at a corpse, for all intents and purposes. He had no way of knowing if the enhancement talent he just endangered wasn't seriously injured. Or mortally injured, it looked that horrendous. This was such a stupid move. Such a stupid, awesome move that can only be enjoyed in retrospect. The Beverly Brothers struck the Shaker Heights Spike with the thudding impact of a back bump, only the enhancement acts took it directly on their goddamn heads.

This guy's neck bent backwards and forwards at the same time, effectively, as somewhere in England, the Dynamite Kid made a chef's kiss gesture.
