10 Dream WWE Matches That Could Still Happen
1. The Rock Vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs. Triple H
The Rock, Austin, and Triple H defined the Attitude era in WWE. The three have had long and successful one-on-one feuds and matches against each other. However, when it came time for them to compete in a Dream Triple Threat Match, one for the ages, it never happened.
Longtime fans of WWE will remember that The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Triple H were supposed to square off in a Triple Threat Match at Survivor Series of 1999 for the WWE Championship. However, due to Austin's real-life neck injury that needed surgery and rehabilitation, he was written out of the match when he was run down by a car. He was ultimately replaced by Big Show who won the match and became champion.
The initial Triple Threat Match was never revisited or rescheduled. The whole thing was completely thrown out of the window, to this day, in an unfortunate turn of events. The Rock has built a successful movie career since retiring from in-ring action, Stone Cold Steve Austin has retired due to nagging injuries from his amazing, storied career, and of course, Triple H is now an Executive in WWE, and doing a fine job at it aside from some creative pushback.
Triple H hasn't fully retired from the ring, wrestling on occasion for special events such as WrestleMania. The Rock has done the same thing since he walked away for Hollywood. Stone Cold has declared that he doesn't see himself making a return to in-ring competition. However, with professional wrestling, especially in WWE, never say never. If there's one more match left in Austin, it would be the one that never took place but should have!
