10 Dream WWE Matches That Could Still Happen
2. Dolph Ziggler Vs. Shawn Michaels
Ever since Dolph Ziggler returned as a solo, repackaged star in the making in 2008, fans took notice at how much he resembled the legendary Shawn Michaels. It wasn't a resemblance based upon his looks, but his persona, charisma, and in-ring style.
Dolph has mentioned on numerous occasions how much he looked up to and emulated the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels growing up as a wrestling fan. He even said that he would love to compete against his Hall of Fame hero.
Shawn Michaels has since semi-retired from the ring, emphasis on "semi." He recently competed in Saudi Arabia, teaming with fellow DX member, Triple H, as they defeated the Undertaker and Kane. It was clear that Shawn Michaels hadn't competed in quite a while. However, he did provide a decent enough performance for fans craving that nostalgic kick.
Maybe Shawn has one more good one-on-one match left in him? Who better than to face the man that looked up to him, the man that uses his finishing move on several occasions, Dolph Ziggler.
This past episode of SmackDown Live!, Shawn Michaels was a guest on MizTV. They were interrupted by Dolph, who said that he and the world used to idolize Shawn Michaels; the key phrase being "used to." This resulted in Shawn being super kicked by Dolph to end the segment. Is this a sign of things to come down the line?
